She Works Flexible Now is a space for critical artistic exploration centered in Berkeley, CA. Largely dematerialized, it houses a variety of artistic endeavors including childrearing, performance, exhibitions, project research and development. This venue also provides a library, a platform for alternative economies and a fireside discussion forum. She Works Flexible Now explores the legacy of female performance artists of the 1970’s, specifically as it manifests in current practices and dialogues existing under the rubric of Relational Aesthetics. She Works Flexible Now is organized around an interest in the often unseen and unpaid work of primary domestic careers and the alternative economies created to sustain these endeavors. She Works Flexible Now collaborates with cultural producers including, but not limited to, visual artists, musicians, writers, cooks and teachers primarily engaged in questioning traditional exchange and working practices.
