She works flexible now is delighted to present a fireside chat hosted by Madeleine Zinn a local bay area writer who will be responding to the work and life of children’s book writer Margaret Wise Brown. Brown best known fro her beloved childrens books, the Runaway bunny and Goodnight Moon, lived an extravagant and unconvential life. She is reported as having bought a whole cart of flowers with her first royalty check, dating the Prince of Spain, Juan Carlos, and taking the former wife of John Barrymorer, Michael Strange as her long term domestic partner and lover. Only two years after Strange’s death in 1950 Brown died suddenly at 42 leaving a host of unpublished manuscripts and all her royalties to the son of a neighbour. Zinn will be presenting new work written specifically for She Works Flexible Now.
