Zero to Infinity, documents the work of 14 artists from the Arte Povera movement, a precursor to
Minimal, Conceptual, and Land Art of the 60s and 70s. Arte Povera is associated with the experimental
use of materials and concerned with the physical experience of art, therefore the book itself is treated
not simply as a neutral vehicle, but an object to be experienced.
To make the reader aware of the book’s physicality, papers of varying weight, texture, and colour were
used for each section. The flush cut trim of the book exposes the construction of these sections and
emphasises it's object-like quality. A shifting red bar motif moves through the sections and is carried
over in the design of the invitation, bus stop ad campaign, and large-scale exhibition graphics. |
